The Jimenez Sainz lab sends a bittersweet farewell and congratulations to Research Specialist Cole Niedmann. Cole holds the distinction of being the first member to join the lab after its formation in 2023. Cole has brought a steady, reliable hand to the lab and his work ethic, knowledge and leadership will be missed.

Cole will be moving on to the next step in his career as a Lab Technician III at Duke University's Laboratory for HIV and COVID-19 Vaccine Research and Development. The lab focuses on understanding and assessing neutralizing antibodies for HIV-1 as vaccine candidates. Recently, the lab was recruited by the federal government to lead the national neutralizing antibody laboratory program for COVID-19 vaccines. This work now focuses on the ongoing neutralization escape by emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants and evaluates preclinical and clinical COVID-19 vaccine studies.

Dr. Jimenez Sainz and her lab send their congratulations and best wishes to Cole as he embarks on this new journey!
